Parks In Clark NJ
Oak Ridge Park
This park is located at the boarder of Edison and Clark on Oak Ridge Rd. It includes multiple fitness trails and an archery range, the only archery range in Central Jersey. This is also the location of Union County’s annual music fest, and 2015’s Rock Carnival. Many of the residents use the trails for hiking, walking, jogging, biking, and dog walking. Oak Ridge Park is a 90-acre county park, located on the border of North Edison, managed by Union County. The park was formerly the 80-year-old 18-hole Oak Ridge Golf Course, which was converted in 2009. The approximately $20 million conversion from the golf course to a county park was met with opposition from local golfers. Although they were against it at first, now, they enjoy the new park but continuously think of great memories when they drive by. The park is also home to the historic Homestead Farm at Oak Ridge.
This park is located on Madison Hill Road in Clark, New Jersey between the Garden State Parkway bridge and Hazelnut Cemetery. Esposito Park is commonly referred to as “The Skate Park”. The park opened in 2008 and is well known for its skate park in addition to other recreational activities. It was designed by taking input from the local residents to be built as a local park for the community. In the center of the park, there is a large freshwater wetland, which is surrounded by a half-mile walking/jogging path. The water provides a beautiful scenic view for residents to feel serene while exercising. Along the path, there are fitness stations and benches for people to use freely. Also, Esposito Park contains tennis courts, softball/baseball field, soccer field, fenced-in playground, picnic area, and restrooms. There is ample parking and can easily be accessed by walking, biking, and public transportation.
Milton Lake Park
This park is located off of Madison Avenue surrounded from West Lake Avenue to Midwood Drive near the above Esposito Park. Although a small park, it includes a bicycle path, and fitness trails for walking, jogging, and biking. During the nice weather, spring and summer activities include canoeing, kayaking, fishing. Fishing is the highlight of this park when conditions allow it.
Rahway River Park
This park is on the larger side and conveniently located at 401 Parkway Drive in Clark, New Jersey. It’s bordered by a lovely stream of water and sectioned between Clark and Rahway, which makes it easily accessible for all residents to share. There’s a fitness trail for walking, jogging, and biking. There are also large fields for soccer games, a game of catch, and Frisbee. Lastly, there are tennis courts and community pool making this park the place to be in the summertime.
